Atorvastatin Calcium
Atvast contains Atorvastatin is a selective, competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-ethylglutaryl-coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor of sterols, including cholesterol. Cholesterol and triglycerides circulate in the bloodstream as part of lipoprotein complexes.It inhibits hepatic production of major apo B-containing lipoproteins production which decrease LDL, VLDL. Atvast is indicated as an adjuvant to diet for the treatment of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD),like reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, angina, also in hypercholesterolemia, mixed Dyslipidemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and homozygous FH.
