Cefpodoxime, a third generation cephalosporin, exhibits activity against several Gram positive as well as Gram negative microorganisms.The pharmacological action of Clavulanic acid prevents hydrolysis of Cefpodoxime against beta-lactamase secreting microbes & increases the antibiotic spectrum. Cefpodoxime & Clavulanic acid combination are effective against multiple infections .It is indicated in Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, Acute community acquired Pneumonia, Upper & lower respiratory tract infections, Skin & soft tissue infections, Urinary tract infections, Pharyngitis, General gonorrhoea (men & women),Rectal gonococcal infections (women) & Acute maxillary sinusitis.
